file formats including RealAudio and improved
CD library handling.
"SmartSound for Multimedia's new version
1.5 now broadens its market appeal to significantly
more people," said Geoff Hufford, Vice President
and General Manager of Product Development.
"Looping tools and new file formats make
it the perfect tool for website and multimedia
developers. For video producers, SmartSound's
broadcast-quality (44KHz) capability and
a constantly growing list of SmartSound-enabled
music libraries make it the most versatile
and cost-effective way to create soundtracks."
SmartSound for Multimedia, Version 1.5
for Windows includes:
- Loopable soundtrack creation - looping
options have been added to the wizardlike
Maestro panels and the Sequencer. Loopable
soundtracks are particularly useful for
multimedia or web pages when you do not
know a pre-defined length of time that
the soundtrack will need to play.
- SmartSound now offers complete support
for RealAudio - the industry standard
streaming technology for playing music
and sound on the Internet.
- support for 44.1KHz professional file
formats - the software now supports the
professional level 44.1KHz, 16-bit stereo
file formats used in professional videos,
broadcast and other high-end situations.
This requires the purchase of an additional
CD-ROM.
- Improved CD library handling - the software
seamlessly updates audio selections in
the Maestro and Browser interfaces when
SmartSound® Audio Palette series of
add-on library CDs are installed.
- Merging/overdubbing sound - users can
merge an unlimited number of layers into
the Sequencer with the ability of restoring
to the original soundtrack. This feature
is used to add dialog, narration or highlighting
sound effects on top of a soundtrack.
- New file formats supported - SmartSound
For Multimedia can now import and export
in these file formats: .WAVE, AIFF, AU
files, RealAudio.
- More variety - the new 'Randomize' preference
allows users to get even more creative.
With "Randomize' selected, users will
often get different arrangements each
time the Maestro is selected or with any
of the other SmartSound Smart Tools.
