Northridge, CA - November 17, 2001
— It's all about keeping the customers
happy. A free upgrade to Sonicfire Pro,
Sonic Desktop's newest soundtrack creation
program, and special pricing on multiple
packs of SmartSound add-on CDs aim to make
the professional videographer's life much
easier.
The prominent feature in the 2.1 upgrade
gives Sonicfire Pro expanded support of
digital video AVI file types through the
utilization of Microsoft's DirectShow. With
the application of this patch, Sonicfire
Pro will now support nearly all forms of
AVI files, as well as most other industry
standard video codec. The upgrade will also
support Macintosh OS X and Windows XP.
Sonicfire Pro 2.1 features other usability
enhancements, such as the Exploding Blocks
function, which allows users to see the
component blocks of a soundtrack created
through the Maestro; Smart Extend, which
enables users to move or set new markers
on the timeline, then press the Smart Extend
button to get a new arrangement filling
the new time, keeping the musical ending;
and greater hardware support for CD audio
on Windows machines.
For those who have been looking for more
audio content to fuel their video projects,
Sonic Desktop has a couple of different
options to get more for less.
First is the 3-Pack line of products, which
includes the Wedding Set, the Corporate
Set, the Travel Set, the Documentary Set,
the Home Set and the forthcoming Edge Set.
These 3-Packs feature CDs best suited for
popular areas of videography and are offered
at a reduced cost from the individual disc
pricing.
For those people who need lots of content
for their video projects, Sonic Desktop
also offers their palettes in 10-packs.
The customer just chooses any 10 CDs from
the Audio Palette, Sound Palette or Edge
Series and gets a further break from the
per-CD price. (Sound Palettes 3 & 4, a two
CD set, counts as two)
