Press Release - 12/18/00 Sonic Desktop Announces Bundling Agreement with Adobe Systems, Inc.
Adobe Premiere 6.0 to include SmartSound Quicktracks software

Northridge, CA - Dec. 18, 2000 - Sonic Desktop Software, the leader in soundtrack creation technology, today announced a bundling agreement with Adobe Systems, Inc. Sonic Desktop's SmartSound® Quicktracks software, a specially-designed plug-in offering custom length royalty-free soundtracks, will be included in Adobe's newly announced Adobe¨ Premiere¨ 6.0 software package.

SmartSound's focus on the soundtrack creation process enables video editors, multimedia authors and Web site creators to author music and audio for their projects quickly and efficiently. By navigating five simple, click-thru screens, the user can select a type of music, mood, length and arrangement to fit their visual images. SmartSound then generates up to 10 soundtrack variations based on those choices.

"SmartSound Quicktracks is a multimedia content creator's dream come true," said Dave Trescot, group product manager, Dynamic Media at Adobe Systems, Incorporated. "It comfortably and reliably takes care of the audio so the user can focus on the visual side of the project."

Premiere 6.0 marks the second time Adobe and Sonic Desktop have entered into a bundling agreement, with the award-winning software suites having been partnered in version 4.2 for Windows.

"SmartSound has long been the leading choice of Adobe Premiere users for soundtrack creation. Now with this bundle they get an integrated package that puts the process at their fingertips," said Sonic Desktop CEO Kevin Klingler. "The technology in Premiere includes automated hyperlinks that allow users to browse and find additional music and sound for their projects, giving them nearly unlimited choices and flexibility in their audio creation process."
