I want to keep my music on an external drive
1. Open the default folder for Sonicfire Pro or Quicktracks. In this folder should be a folder labled "Sound Files". You can manually move this entire directory to a new location.
2 - Sonicfire Pro. Once there, open Sonicfire Pro, select (Win)Options from the View menu: (Mac) Preferences from the Sonicfire Pro menu. Click the Folders tab. In this window, point the "Sound File Folders On Hard Drive" section to the new location. If you want this to be the folder in which all future CDs are copied, select the new folder and click the "Set Copy Destination" button.
2 - Quicktracks. Once there, open Quicktracks, select Options from the Tool menu or Click the SmartSound Quicktracks button in Ulead. Click the Folders tab. In this window, point the "Sound File Folders On Hard Drive" section to the new location. If you want this to be the folder in which all future CDs are copied, select the new folder and click the "Set Copy Destination" button.
3. Click OK and the SmartSound library should rebuild.
If you have not copied music to your drive yet, simply open the program as described above. Get into the options/preference window and click the folders tab. From this window, point the Sound File Folder section to the desired destination. If you want to make this the new default location for all future SmartSound music, select the Set copy destination button.
